The art of listening
28 May 2024
How many times do we sit in meetings or discussions and wonder - is the other person really listening to me? Unfortunately, this happens all too often.
Active listening is an art that can be practiced over time to help one get better at understanding (or clarifying) what another person is saying. It's all about being fully present and engaged with the speaker, fostering a connection and understanding what is being said.
At work (and in personal life), active listening helps us:- build stronger relationships- reduce misunderstandings, and- improve problem solving
With these great benefits, why shouldn’t we encourage our teams to practice active listening?
I’m sharing with you a candid discussion that I had with Manas Human (Co-founder & Custodian of Entrepreneurship at Nagarro) on active listening. In this video, I talk about how I became an active listener and what it means to value other's time in meetings.
Happy watching!
